Marcus David Loewenstark

One of the earliest gravestones belongs to Marcus David Loewenstark who died in 1908, aged 57. The photograph shows him in Masonic regalia, and his family were well-known Masonic jewellers. He married Marion in 1875 and later emigrated to South Africa, settling in Bulawayo where he was an active Freemason.
