The intention of the site is to collect data and images of all the people buried in the cemeteries of BHC, BRS and Chabad and present the data in searchable form on a website open to all.
However, the names and dates of those people tell you nothing about their lives and their contribution to their Jewish communities and to the boroughs or Bournemouth and Poole. That is why we ask our volunteers to canvass opinion within their communities for the names of people who have led interesting, arresting, profitable and/or generous lives to do research on, and to add that information to the database.
Eventually we will ask our writer volunteers to put the found information into ‘story’ form, a broader look at an individual, similar to an obituary in a newspaper.
